ToaCx4 Take Two, and Action!

A few days back I was whining about my video camera being stolen in my last break-in. I was feeling bad that I could no longer vlog about serious issues as well as just act the fool on YouTube. I was having fun with the videos in the short time I was making them. I mean, I was THOROUGHLY enjoying it, and then my pleasure was unfairly snatched away from me.

What was I to do?

Well, I wound up taking matters into my own hands and ordered myself a new toy.

Aiptek Action HD

Now Aiptek has a reputation for making "toy cameras" that aren't of high quality. I have owned an Aiptek Digital Camcorder in the past however, and I was pleased with it. It's true that I could go out there and hand Sony or Panasonic $800 - $1500 for a decent HD video camera, but I'm cheap! Also, I don't really care what people say about this brand or that brand very much. I'll listen to them, but in the end I judge based upon my own findings and not the findings of others. With that in mind, I knew I needed to get myself a new camcorder. I also knew that I didn't have a lot of money, so when I heard that Aiptek had a 1080p (non-standard) HD camcorder for 200 bucks I felt that it was worth looking into a little more closely. So that's exactly what I did!

I ordered it from Aiptek's web site, and picked it up at Wal-Mart on my way home from work today. I'll post some demo videos and give you a real and honest review after I charge it up. In the meantime check out what this $200 toy gives you.

I set that one up too perfectly. ;)
The cool thing is JaceMan's new toy is a video camera. Maybe you and he could try your new toys out together, and he could post the results right here FOR ME! Yeah!

Impressive! I can't wait to see some more JaceRants®.
They're coming! Although at some point I may transition all of that material off LJ to my own server hosted under a domain I own: JaceManSpeaks.com

If I do that, I'll use LJ strictly for tech talk, nonsense like "ponderings," and commenting on your blog.
Glad you were able to piece that one together Watson.
Does home insurance cover theft? Are you getting this with money from your insurance?
My insurance does include theft, up to certain limits on certain items and minus depreciation. That's pretty standard. That being said, after deductible, most of my insurance money went on repairing damage to the home. Replacement of my goods is coming out of my own pocket.
